"camping" the riffle pt 1

actually, not even close...

In theory this past week we were going to a friends property on the Deschutes to stay in Yurts (fully equipped with carpet & queen size pillow top beds), relax and fly fish. With a 9.5 month old though (and a fear of snakes. we saw a 4 ft one slither in front of us...yeah, no thanks!) Yurt-ing it just didn't seem as fun once I got my hands on the luxurious "barn."

There was no camping for this girl.

we had a blast though sitting out in the near 100 degree heat listening to the river rush by.

What an amazing time spent with family.
I feel beyond blessed to have opportunities to sneak away to oasis's like this
and just feel Gods peace and relax.

this summer has been such a fun one so far!

next up sunriver...
lincoln city
& then Hawaii!!

God is so good and life just keeps getting better & better...

time slips away

oh how time continues to slip away!
It has been almost a month now since our trip to the beach and I am just now getting to post #2.
Such is the life of a busy busy mama...

I think I'll wrap up the beach with some candid beach shots and then be done.

the memories are forever in my mind.

girls in swimsuits

The girls and I spent the past week at our beach cabin (while Andy was in Haiti) soaking up the sun! It was such a great time and I have so many photos to share. I figured I would break them up into a few small posts since there are so many photos I love!

I just love little girls in swim suits. Seriously, can I please look half as cute as them?!?

This week was Poppy's first time getting a real chance to enjoy the sand. She loved it! So much that every morning there would be a ton of it in her diaper from the sand she ate the day before ;)

Alomae fell in love with the Ocean as well. I had to constantly remind her to let the waves come to her. She kept wanting to run right out to them but this mama has too much respect for the power of the ocean and the tragedy that can be done. Once she learned to stay back it was so fun wading in the shallow, surprisingly warm, waters with her!

we were so excited to have our friends show up at the beach too! Alomae just ADORES
Craig, Lauren & Fern
and was so happy when Craig took her back out to the water to play!

I feel so blessed to have gotten 5 beautiful and warm days on the Oregon Coast.
It seriously was one of our best trips there ever!

I never used to be a oregon beach girl but the more I go with my girls the more and more I fall in love!

I cannot wait to do it again!
