two years of beauty

day 23

today was day 23 of my
30 day shred and
i am still going
strong!

loving it... really!

received and recorded

Delayed answers to prayers are not refusals.
Many prayers are received and recorded yet underneath are the words,
"My time has not yet come."
God has a fixed time and a ordained purpose and He who controls the limits
of our lives also determines the time of our deliverance.

.being reminded of this brings me so much peace- hold on to the promises of God
carry them without doubting
and know that He will fulfill them in His perfect time,
in the most beautiful of ways.

happy birthday alomae- you are TWO!

thats right alomae...
Today, you turn "2"!
I can hardly believe it...
it truly seems like just yesterday I found out i was pregnant with you!

These past two years have TRULY been the best two years of my life.
you have made me a better person...

because of you I am...
stronger
more flexible
happier
relaxed
patient
thankful
joyful

everything about you is simply wonderful and I so enjoy
witnessing the encounters you have...

you have acquired for yourself quite a little following of people who
adore you (almost, but not quite) as much as I do..
mostly because you have the most infectious personality
but you are pretty cute too :)

I still pinch myself when I think about the fact that you are
mine to keep (well, that the Lord has entrusted such a jewel to me!)

I love you so much sweet girl...

Cheers to a lifetime of being my sweet baby girl!

(you can read about the day you were born here)

"If you want to be important—wonderful. If you want to be recognized—wonderful. If you want to be great—wonderful. But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. That's a new definition of greatness...it means that everybody can be great (everybody) because everybody can serve."

what to do with a board...

I have had a small wall in my dining room that I just was not content with the
way it was decorated. It had a few random things on it that did not flow...
so the other day I tore everything off the walls
(just to have little chunks of the wall
be ripped off by those silly adhesive hanging stickers, woops!- Andy was
not thrilled about that part!)

So after clearing the wall, Andy asked "what is your plan now?"
I had no idea...
I knew I didn't want a bunch of stuff anymore.

I decided I wanted a inspiration board, one where we can hang things we
like, write things down, ect.

So off to the store I went...
not really sure how I wanted it to look, I ran to Michael's
to find some supplies....

alomae and I roamed the aisles for awhile looking at frames, paint,
cork, boxes... but nothing really looked my style.

So I left with magnetic paint and a roll of cork and decided I needed to
do everything on my own!

this is what I came up with!

there was a rectangle piece of wood that was hanging on the wall before
that said "this is who I am and this is what I do" that andy had made for school.

So I painted it a couple times with magnetic paint followed by chalkboard paint.
I then covered half of the board with cork.
we had a long piece of reclaimed wood I had got for .50 from the
rebuilding center sitting around so I used that as the frame.

(i did not build the frame though, we have a friend at church who is
amazing when it comes to wood and cut and framed my board for me...
he did SUCH a better job then I could ever have done)

I really like the way it came out...it's a pretty decent size too, bigger
then the photos make it out to be..

I love that our home is being filled with unique hand made details
that you wont see everywhere..

tina TEENAH tiiiiina Christina

meet my wonderful, beautiful, funny, loving ( i could go on and on...)
dear friend,
Christina!

3 years ago in September 2007 there was a cancerous tumor found in Christina's
brain. They immediately removed the tumor and Christina endured a long road of radiation
that has kept her cancer at bay.

well, there has been some tumor re-growth and my dear Tina
is going into brain surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30am!

Will you pray?

some specifics are:

*supernatural peace & rest
*for quick identification & removal of tumor cells
*no injury to healthy brain matter
*quick recovery without headaches, disorientation, dizziness and muscle weakness

Christina is one of the funnest, kindest people you will ever meet...
during this journey, she has never complained but simply trusted the Lord and
His will in her life...

She is a true testimony of being joyful amidst the trials, rejoicing in suffering, and
living in Gods unbelievable peace.

Please, Share Christina's story and encourage others to
Pray

it moves the hand of God after all...

words from Tina...

“My only prayer through this is that God is glorified. I pray that he is seen through me as I walk this journey.”

"Your prayers are what has made this experience one of unnatural joy, peace, and absolute rest in His sovereignty"

“May your heart be drawn closer to God. That is my only prayer. And THAT makes all this worth it.”

“You have created me "for such a time as this."... and I accept it and embrace it only in your strength.”

"Filling out a medical form: What is your condition: Brain Tumor
What have you done for this so far: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Massage, Physical Therapy, Nothing has helped "

Alomae! what you have been up to...

alomae,

a few things you have been up to this week...

showing us how very smart you are

trying out your babies stroller that papa jimmy got ya... (and getting stuck!)
and of course
more tucking in of your babies...
this time on the stairs with a baby wipe!
you are such a natural mama...

Tonight at church you were sliding elmo down the slide, when he hit the ground you picked him up cradled him and said "it's okay, I got you you" all while shhhhing him and holding him close.... you make me so proud :)

its almost your birthday! I cannot wait for you to turn two (well actually, I can... but at least then when you tell people you're two, you'll be telling the truth!)

oh jillian...

so...

i am no stranger to the gym
in fact, i go about 5 days a week
(thank goodness for wonderful 24 hour childcare workers!!!)

but last night andy and I started adding a little 30 day shred into
our fitness routine...

ouch!

even with loose strong (or so i thought!) muscles,
I woke up today in so much [good] pain!

seriously! a 20 minute work out worked me THAT good!

for all you who have the 2011 resolution to tone up,
add a little jillian into your routine!

you wont be sorry!
(well maybe a little when it hurts to walk up the stairs!!)
