instagram

instagram has become such a fun & easy platform to capture and share our life!

here are some of my favorite photos from the past few weeks...

these photos of our day to day life make me feel like the most blessed
Mama in the whole world!

I have two beautiful, happy & healthy girls!

burp cloths

here are some of my newest ones I made for a friend who is
expecting a baby girl in a few weeks.

I was able to find some modern feminine fabrics that didn't scream baby but were
still fitting for something to wipe up spit :)

they turned out super cute!

citrus body scrub

a few weeks ago I made up a few jars of this yummy citrus body scrub
for some friends as gifts.

it was super easy to make
I did not have the lemon extract it called for so I used coconut extract and it made
it smell like a tropical getaway!

so yummy!

here is what you need

1 1/2 cups of kosher salt
2 Tbs. citrus zest
1 cup vegetable or canola oil
1 tsp. lemon extract (I used coconut)
1 small glass jar or other container

first you fill your jar with kosher salt
and then add in your citrus zest-
I used a combination of lemon, lime, grapefruit & orange to make it extra fragrant
but you can do any combo you want!

then you use the end of a wooden spoon to smash the zest down into the salt

add in 1 cup vegetable oil & mix
(next time I'll try a different oil for sure!)

add some pretty twine and a label and there you have it!
a thoughtful handmade gift that is very affordable!

love the sun and looking forward to many more sunny days with my little family this summer!

Poppy and the Chiro

I am trying a new avenue with Poppy. Along with the eliminating of dairy from my diet I have begun taking her to a chiropractor/acupuncturist who also studied chinese medicine. I really like the Doctor. She is gentle, kind, intuitive- everything you want working on your baby (or yourself!)

We have concluded that Poppy definitely has some digestion issues. So Dr. Fletcher has been doing acupressure on her and working her little tummy along with chiropractic adjustments and today Poppy even received her first acupuncture (with itty bitty needles attached to sticky pads)- when placed on the points for her colon and digestion, she immediately had a little red reaction which basically clarified that we are working the right spots.

Poppy has been a champ during the whole thing! She has moments where you can tell she is working through some obvious discomfort, but once that is relieved, she is the cutest little patient I am sure Dr. Fletcher has ever seen!

It feels so good as a mama to be doing some proactive things with Poppy to help her verse just "waiting it out" or putting her on "something" to mask the discomfort. I really hope we can treat the real issue and alleviate her discomfort in full!

here are some photos from our visit today

I so wanted to take some with the Dr working on her but thought that might be weird!
maybe next time...

sweet baby girl!
